Question: Why do we call it a free press if they report to shareholders?

Can there truly be a free press if the parent organization is directed by stockholders and financial analysts? If journalistic integrity and the pursuit of truth is throttled by economic considerations, is there any quality left?

Perhaps the blogging revolution, once the content creators, search engines, and the mechanism of developing the social connectedness (mesh) mature some more, perhaps this medium will become the One and Only Free Press. Even if it makes use of targeted banner ads.
